    Bug Club is a whole-school reading programme that brilliantly combines an online reading world with fantastic print books, and assessment tools. Every child at Harefield has a personal login to access their individual account. If you are concerned the allocated books are too easy or too hard for your child, then discuss with your child’s class teacher.

Staying Safe Online

  • Kiddle - Safe Search Engine for children
    Kiddle.co is self-described as a “safe visual search engine for kids” that was created by Google. Basically, Kiddle functions similarly to Google and presents the same relevant content and resources. However, it has a safe search filter that enables parents and educators to feel confident that kids won’t be exposed to inappropriate content. What makes Kiddle unique is that it’s highly visual, so kids can easily navigate the search results. Another unique feature is that if a child searches an inappropriate search term, an error page will pop up and not allow them to view the content.

    YouTube Kids was created to give children a more contained environment that makes it simpler and more fun for them to explore on their own, and easier for parents and caregivers to guide their journey as they discover new and exciting interests along the way.
